Been there done that 
Have been to Deggendorf over the weekend, had some very nice pizza at dolce sosta trattoria saturday on sunday went to Passau and visited the Veste Oberhaus and had some Mexican Food in the Cantina Ensenada which was very yummy and spicy!
Having a voucher led us to the Waldbahn a traditional hotel and restaurant in the Bavarian Forest in Zwiesel.

I’ve been to Deggendorf, Passau and many other local burgs and dorfs in that region. I was stationed in the US Army at Landshut from 1960 until 1962. I have been back there many times and still love Niederbayern, the Isar and Donau, and especially Passau. I love the small town of Regen, in the Bohemian Forest near the Czech border.
