Toshiba Satellite Pro 480CDT – The Ubuntu experiment

Recently discovered this very old laptop in my old computer stuff. And as I pushed the button it actually did start and run. I could even watch an episode of Friends on it! Not suuuper nice quality but!

Manufacturer’s product description
Toshiba’s Satellite series of notebook computers has long been known for delivering top-notch power at low prices. The Satellite Pro 480CDT uses Intel’s new mobile processor. The expandability and convenient all-in-one design you’ve come to expect from a Toshiba Satellite notebook are here as well. How Toshiba is raising the bar in the notebook midrange? By packing a Pentium II processor into Satellite Pro 480 series – first kid in its class to have one. But this series sets itself apart in other arenas, too. Not surprising, considering the 480CDT, that comes with large hard disk, fast RAM and SelectBay modular technology. The Satellite is value-packed mobile computing at its best. If what you need is a solid notebook PC for all your general-purpose uses at a great price, consider Toshiba’s Satellite 480 an excellent choice.
